PeopleInterdisciplinary Junior Faculty and Graduate Student DevelopmentWhile a number of faculty have become involved in CWES activities, one of the important missions that CWES serves is helping newer DRI faculty from diverse disciplines interested in watershed research develop their research programs. CWES has facilitated the introduction of a number of junior faculty to potential funding agencies and provided support for proposal writing. In addition, CWES has supported junior faculty and graduate students to attend scientific conferences focusing on issues of watershed science and sustainability. DRI has a strong history of supporting graduate students at UNR on DRI research projects. One of the goals of CWES is to attract excellent graduate students to participate in DRI research projects. Faculty with a CWES AffiliationOne of the missions of the CWES is to help develop cross-divisional interdisciplinary research teams that address watershed issues. To that end, many faculty from all three of DRI's divisions (the Division of Atmospheric Sciences, the Division of Earth and Ecosystem Sciences, and the Division of Hydrologic Sciences) have received support from CWES. In addition, many of these same faculty participate in the activities of DRI's other centers: the Center for Arid Lands (CALEM) and the Center for Environmental Remediation and Monitoring (CERM). Following is information about DRI faculty members involved with CWES, including a link to the faculty member’s homepage, where more detailed information about the faculty member can be found.
